Delicious tuna salad sandwich

A tuna salad sandwich is a classic lunch choice. It’s made by mixing canned tuna with mayonnaise and adding in crunchy veggies like celery and onions. Spread this tasty mixture between two slices of bread, and you’ve got a simple yet delicious meal. Perfect for a quick bite or to pack for lunch on the go!

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter
  • Bread slices
  • Cilantro leaves for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Two slice of cheese

Method

 

  1. Drain the tuna and place it in a bowl.
  2. Add mayonnaise, chopped onion, chopped tomato, chopped green chili (if using),  salt, and pepper to the bowl with the tuna.
  3. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  6. Place the buttered side down on the skillet.
  7. Spread the tuna mixture on one slice of bread.
  8. Place another bread slice, buttered side up, on top to make a sandwich.
  9. Cook until the bottom side is golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove from heat and cut the sandwich diagonally.
  11. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve hot.
