Chicken Jungle Sandwich Recipe

I’m making a street-style Chicken jungle sandwich recipe now what is this junglee style grill sandwich. So the Mumbai grill sandwich is very famous; now the essence of any Mumbai sandwich is based on 2 important things. First is sandwich masala, which is quite different from chaat masala & second is sandwich chutney, which is very different from any other normal traditional green chutney. So I’m showing you how to make both these components in Mumbai street style. It’s a very beautiful recipe. A street-style recipe.

Ingredients Sundwich Masala

  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp cloves
  • ½  star anise
  • 1 tsp dried pomegranate seed powder
  • ½ tsp asafetida
  • ½ tsp dried ginger powder
  • ½ tsp black salt
  • 2.5 tbsp salt

Instructions Sundwich Masala

Once the pan is hot, lower the flame completely. Now, to this add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper, and cloves, & add star anise to this. Now, you have to roast these spices on a low flame. Then transfer them to a bowl & cool them down. Once the spices are cooled down, then transfer them to a mixer grinder. add dried pomegranate seed powder, mango powder, asafetida, ginger powder, black salt, and salt.

Now grind all these spices together to form a fine powder. Our sandwich masala is ready.

Ingredients Chutney

  • 2 cups of coriander leaves
  • 10- 12 spicy green chilies
  • 10-12 curry leaves
  • 2-3 blanched spinach ( optional)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp sandwich masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 ice-cubes

Instructions Chutney

In a mixer grinder jar, take a bunch of coriander leaves, spicy green chilies, curry leaves, and blanched spinach leaves. These are optional, they give a good color, garlic cloves, roasted chana dal, and sandwich masala salt to taste, now add some ice cubes. They help retain color as well. & now I’m adding 1 slice of bread. This is a trick to retain water in this chutney. Now you have to blend everything to make it into a fine Chutney.

Ingredients Coleslaw

  • 1cup shredded cabbage
  •  1 chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • ½ cup grated carrots
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ tsps. Schezwan sauce or red garlic chutney
  • A pinch of sandwich masala

Instructions Coleslaw

Take 1 cup of shredded cabbage, grated carrots, chicken, mayonnaise, schezwan sauce, or red garlic chutney in a bowl. This is an optional & and pinch of Sandwich masala. Now mix all these ingredients nicely & the coleslaw for our jungle sandwich is ready

Ingredients sandwich
  • Butter as a required
  • Sandwich bread
  • Sandwich chutney
  • Boiled potato ( grate)
  • Sandwich masala
  • Capsicum (chopped)
  • Onions ( chopped)
  • Tomato ( slice)
  • Coleslaw
  • Blanched sweet corn ( optional)
  • Cheese ( grated)
Instructions Assemble the sandwich
  1. Apply butter generously on a piece of sandwich bread and to and. Then on top of it apply our sandwich chutney nicely.
  2. Now on top of it, grate the boiled potatoes to add them. So grate the potato & make a nice layer of it. Now sprinkle sandwich masala on it generously. Along with that, I’ve finely chopped capsicum & and I’m adding chopped onions to this.
  1. Now take another bread slice and apply butter & spicy green chutney to it. Now place that on top like this. a piece of sandwich bread now again apply butter & our spicy green sandwich chutney on top. Now nicely arrange tomato slices on it.
  1. Along with it add sandwich masala on top, and make a layer of the coleslaw that we prepared earlier. I’m adding some blanched sweet corn, however this is optiona.

  1. Now, on top of it add grated cheese if you like it. Again apply butter & sandwich chutney on the & place it on top.
  1. Now our sandwich is ready to be grilled. Now take a grill pan like this & heat the grill pan nicely. Then you can use a skillet to apply some butter nicely to the pan. Place the sandwich on top of this. Take a plate like this. After placing the plate on top, you have to apply some pressure lightly.
